The West Virginia University campus is invited to celebrate the start of the academic year with the College of Applied Human Sciences on Friday, Aug. 22, from 2:30–4:30 p.m. at the Rec Turf Fields in Evansdale, located next to the Applied Human Sciences Building. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend.
The CAHS Celebration will feature free Kona Ice, food, t-shirts, raffles, prizes, games, and more.
- The first 200 students can tie-dye their t-shirts.
- Cornhole tournaments will begin at 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Teams of two can sign up on-site and join the competition.
Attendees can also take part in a dunk tank fundraiser for a chance to dunk a favorite professor or CAHS representative. To participate, bring an item donation for the new CAHS Snack Rack Pantry or make a cash/electronic donation. Pantry donations may include hygiene products (such as deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, shaving cream, shampoo, soap, and period products), non-perishable pantry staples, shelf-stable meals, and individually wrapped snacks.
The new CAHS Snack Rack Pantry will be located in the Applied Human Sciences Building.
In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside to the Rec Center Gym. Updates will be provided through the college’s social media channels (@WVUCAHS).
