Registration is open for the 2024 WV Physical Activity Symposium – Uniting Leaders for an ActiveWV, on Wednesday, May 29, at Stonewall Jackson Resort. The symposium, hosted by ActiveWV in partnership with the West Virginia Department of Health, is aimed at fostering collaboration and action towards a healthier West Virginia.
Registration is free, but limited spots are available. The symposium runs from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with breakfast, lunch, and snacks included. ( Register now)
“The event is set to be a groundbreaking gathering of like-minded physical activity advocates striving to make a difference through their collective work,” said Eloise Elliott, Director of the Center for ActiveWV at West Virginia University.
Featured speakers include Michelle Blatt, West Virginia Department of Education State Superintendent of Schools; Roger Hanshaw, Speaker of the West Virginia House of Delegates; Dr. Clay Marsh, Chancellor and Executive Dean of WVU Health Sciences; Gayle Manchin, Federal Co-Chair of the Appalachian Regional Commission; Sherri Young, West Virginia Department of Health Secretary; and Dr. Matthew Christiansen, State Health Officer.
