CPASS is co-hosting Youth Sports and Spirit Day at Mountaineer Field Saturday August 31, at the season opener against JMU, August 31. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. and pregame activities will begin at 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the Chick-Fil-A Kids Zone in the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility.
Kristen Dieffenbach, Athletic Coaching Education associate professor, along with graduate assistants, Christina Villalon and Maggie Roberts, will host the youth sports station-based program at the Chick-fil-A Kids Zone. The activity will provide hands on teaching and youth sport experience for PETE/PEK and ACE students.
There will be inflatables, football drills, cheer and dance activities, USA Football First Down Program information and more. The event will include appearances by the WVU Dance Team from 11-11:30 a.m., WVU Marching Band 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m. and WVU Cheerleaders 12:30-1 p.m.
All parents and chaperones must remain with participants during the event and are responsible for their participants at all times. Fans may bring bottled water into the IPF during the event. Coordinators will also have water available. The clear bag policy is in place when entering the stadium after the pregame activities.
Fans inside the Kids Zone will have the opportunity to sign up children 13 and under for the Mountaineer Kids Club, presented by Chick-fil-A Patteson Drive. Kids Club members receive a t-shirt, five free kids' meals from Chick-fil-A Patteson Drive, free admission into 90+ WVU Athletic events and more.
