The College of Applied Human Sciences continues to enhance its online education capabilities with the addition of Lyndsay Burneisen as an instructional designer.
Burneisen will work closely with faculty and staff to create engaging, innovative, accessible, and effective instructional materials for online courses.
She holds a master’s degree in school health education from WVU’s School of Public Health and a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education teacher education, with a minor in Aquatics, from Slippery Rock University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Coaching and Teaching Studies with a focus on Instructional Design and Technology. Her professional experience includes teaching health and physical education in K-12 schools, serving as an online educator, and contributing to course development efforts as a graduate service assistant in CAHS.
“My previous experience as a graduate service assistant with this team made me realize how much I value contributing to meaningful learning experiences that impact students’ success,” Burneisen says. “I’m excited to continue that work at a higher level in my new role. The chance to work in the College of Applied Human Sciences, alongside a team dedicated to advancing online education, feels like the perfect fit.”
Burneisen’s expertise in online education and her research focus on instructional design strategies will help CAHS continue to enhance its mission to provide accessible and impactful learning opportunities.
“I’m excited to work closely with faculty and staff to create courses that not only meet high standards but also inspire and motivate students,” she says. “I believe that, together, we can develop learning experiences that are impactful and truly make a difference in students' lives.”
